FAQs
Where will we be meeting?
In the cold winter months, when the earth is sleeping, we will be meeting in the home of Amanda Rose in Longmont, Colorado. Once the earth awakens, we will be meeting at one of two small organic/biodynamic herb farms in West Boulder, Colorado where Amanda Rose manages and Maintains the herb farms. We will also have classes at different locations around Colorado as day-trips, and camping trips. Car-pooling is encouraged.
Is this class accessible to those with physical limitations?
Because of the nature of the apprenticeship, and the locations (other than Amanda Rose’s house), people will need to be able to use stairs, and hike up steep hills. Amanda Rose has Fibromyalgia, and hikes like an herbalist, slow and steady.
When will we be meeting?
We will be meeting in-person twice a month on either Saturday or Sunday from 9am - 4pm. Everyone will bring a dish to share on our meeting days for lunches based on nutrition guidelines set forth on the first day of class. During the summer, we will have 3 scheduled weekend camping trips in different bio-regions of Colorado. All classes are pre-scheduled for the year, so you can plan your life around your studies.
How much study is needed?
Though we are only meeting twice a month in person, each meeting you will be given independent reading and homework to do on your own. This is all laid out in an easy study format by Amanda Rose on the first day of class. Each class we will share our homework results with the group, to improve the knowledge of all who are participating. Expect around 10-15 hours of home work a month.
Who is welcome to join?
Any person who is wanting to connect with nature, and learn about herbalism while weaving in the science of the practice, and the magic of the earth together as one. There are no gender or age limitations to this apprenticeship, HOWEVER, this is a safe space for LGBTQIA+ people, and people of all colors, nationalities, belief systems, etc. No intolerance or hate speech will be tolerated.
Are scholarships available?
There will be room for 2-4 people to do a partial or full work-trade working with Amanda Rose at the farms she manages. If you are in need of financial support for the program, and would like to discuss work-trade opportunities, please reach out and discuss it with Amanda!
